Michael Malone

Michael Malone served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 2004 to 2008, earning an honorable discharge. While assigned to a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MUE), he deployed to multiple countries. When not deployed he served as a law enforcement officer on base, gaining firsthand experience in military justice and security operations.

Following his service, he completed his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Wyoming, then went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law.

While in law school, he served as President of the Potter Law Club—now known as the John Burman Student Government—and was an active participant in several legal clinics. Through his work with Legal Aid of Wyoming, the University of Wyoming Defender Aid Clinic, and the Civil Legal Services Clinic, he helped secure favorable outcomes for clients across multiple judicial districts in Wyoming. His academic excellence was recognized with the CALI Award for the highest grade in his Criminal Law course.

After passing the bar, he moved to Montana to begin his legal career with the Office of the State Public Defender, where he earned the state’s “Rookie of the Year” award. He later gained experience in family law at a private firm before returning to his primary focus: criminal defense. With a background rooted in service, both military and legal, he brings commitment, experience, and a client-first mindset to every case.
